SCED to attend SmartHK fair in Jinan
The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, will depart for Jinan, Shandong tomorrow (May 26) to attend the SmartHK fair.
Mr So will officiate and speak at the opening session of the fair to be held on May 27.
The two-day SmartHK fair is jointly organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province; the Shandong Economic and Information Technology Committee; the Shandong Development and Reform Commission; the Department of Science and Technology of Shandong Province; the Shandong Provincial Department of Culture; the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of Shandong Provincial People's Government; the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Shandong Provincial Government; the Finance Office of Shandong Province; the Information Office of Shandong Provincial People's Government; the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shandong Sub-council and the Shandong Federation of Industry and Commerce.
Three thematic exhibition zones, namely "Innovative Design and Marketing", "Technological Advancement" and "Management Upgrading" will be set up to provide visitors from local enterprises with first-hand information on Hong Kong's service industry. Other highlights include a forum, seminars and business-matching activities for participants to learn more about how Hong Kong services can contribute to the upgrading of their businesses.
Mr So will return to Hong Kong in the afternoon on May 27. The Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Godfrey Leung, will be the Acting Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development during Mr So's absence.
