Transcript of remarks by CE

Following is the transcript of remarks by the Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, at a media session in Beijing today (April 26):

Reporter: Just now when you were at the NDRC (National Development and Reform Commission), you said you came up with new ideas of possible more co-operation with the Mainland. Can you tell us more about that?

Chief Executive: There are a number of areas. Firstly Hong Kong has benefited in the last 30-plus years a great deal throughout the reform and opening process of the Mainland. We would like to be part of that process going forward, and therefore we have a number of discussion areas on which we have reached preliminary agreements, and this would include a number of things, including the formulation of the new Five-Year Plan and the role of Hong Kong in the country's future and further development.
