SCED visits Finland to sign investment promotion and protection agreement
The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mrs Rita Lau, will leave for Helsinki, Finland, tomorrow (July 1) to represent the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government to sign an investment promotion and protection agreement with Finland.
The Finnish Minister for Foreign Trade and Development, Mr Paavo Vayrynen, will represent the Finland government to sign the agreement. The two ministers will exchange views on the promotion of bilateral trade and investments.
During her stay in Helsinki, Mrs Lau will visit Finpro and discuss with industry representatives Hong Kong's economic development and business opportunities for Finnish enterprises. Finpro is Finland's official organisation tasked with enhancing the competitiveness of Finnish companies through internationalisation.
She will also visit the Art and Design City of Arabianranta Area, a cluster of art, design and media schools and small and medium-sized enterprises in these fields, to gain first-hand knowledge of the country's development in innovation and creative industries.
Mrs Lau will return to Hong Kong on Friday morning (July 3).
