SCED speaks to the media
The following is the transcript of remarks by the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, at a media session after attending radio programmes today (November 26):
Reporter: Regarding the Disneyland project, how are you going to garner support for this project from the legislators? The legislators may probably not pass the plan. Do you have any suggestion? How would you garner more support?
Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development: We will be going to the Economic Development Panel on Monday together with representatives from Disneyland. Actually, within the last three days, we have been explaining the details of the expansion plan to various political parties and political groups. We answered the questions and provided them with the necessary information. I think it was well-received and we are at very good and positive dialogue, which is very constructive. I hope that will continue in the next phase, i.e. the Economic Development Panel discussion as well as the approval of the funding in the Finance Committee. I think all have the best interest of Hong Kong in mind and I hope that LegCo members would have this in view as they support this project. Thank you very much.
