SCED concludes visit to Russia
The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, conducted the last day of his visit to Moscow, Russia, today (March 18).
In the morning, Mr So met the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Mr Ilya Shestakov, to discuss issues relating to food imports and exports between Hong Kong and Russia. He encouraged Russian food procurers and producers to use Hong Kong as a sourcing and trading platform.
Mr So then paid a courtesy call on the Chinese Ambassador to Russia, Mr Li Hui. He also had a meeting with the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Mr Denis Manturov, to exchange views on commercial and industrial co-operation between the two places.
Before leaving Moscow, Mr So will visit some start-up companies set up under the Skolkovo Foundation, Russia's most important science, technology and innovation development project, to promote Hong Kong's start-up ecosystem and encourage Russian technology companies to use Hong Kong as the gateway to enter the Mainland and other Asian markets.
Mr So will return to Hong Kong tomorrow (March 19).
