SCED to attend APEC ministerial meeting in the Philippines
The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, will depart for Manila, the Philippines, on Sunday (November 15) to attend the 27th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Ministerial Meeting (AMM) to be held on November 16 and 17.
Under APEC's theme for this year, "Building Inclusive Economies, Building a Better World", participating ministers will hold discussions on inclusive growth through integrated economies, as well as on sustainable and resilient communities. Mr So will also attend the dedicated session for trade ministers on APEC's support for the multilateral trading system and the 10th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization.
On the sidelines of the AMM, Mr So will take the opportunity to meet with the trade ministers of other member economies to exchange views on issues of mutual concern.
Mr So will return to Hong Kong in the evening on November 17. The Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Godfrey Leung, will be the Acting Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development during Mr So's absence.
