SCED to visit Los Angeles
The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, will leave Hong Kong tomorrow night (December 11) for a visit to Los Angeles, the United States (US), to promote Hong Kong and foster co-operation and exchange between Hong Kong and the US.
During his stay in Los Angeles, he will attend a roundtable luncheon co-organised by the Los Angeles World Affairs Council and the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in San Francisco (SFETO), at which he will deliver a speech and have a discussion session with community leaders. He will also attend a reception hosted by the SFETO to meet with board members of the Hong Kong Association of Southern California and other business and government leaders in the region.
Mr So will also take the opportunity to meet with the Chinese Consul General in Los Angeles, Ambassador Liu Jian, and visit an exhibition co-organised by the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals in Hong Kong and the Chinese American Museum in Los Angeles to show his support for disabled artists from Hong Kong and southern California. He will visit Walt Disney Imagineering for briefings on the latest developments in creative trends.
Mr So will return to Hong Kong on the morning of December 15. During his absence, the Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Godfrey Leung, will be the Acting Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development.
