SCED continues his visit to Belgium and France
The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, arrived in Paris, France, on May 29 (Paris time) to continue his duty visit.
After the Brussels, Belgium, leg of his visit on May 28 (Brussels time), Mr So departed for Paris on May 29 (Paris time) to speak at a luncheon co-organised by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, Brussels and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council for political leaders and the business community in France. He delivered a keynote address entitled "Hong Kong - A Business Hub in Asia and a Premier Gateway to China" at the luncheon to elaborate on the unlimited business opportunities in Hong Kong for French companies.
Mr So then proceeded to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) headquarters, where he met with ministers participating in the Ministerial Council Meeting (MCM). Afterwards, Mr So attended the Ministerial dinner hosted by Norway, the Chair of the 2013 OECD MCM.
Mr So will address the Trade Session of the MCM and attend an informal gathering of Ministers responsible for the World Trade Organization (WTO) Doha Round negotiations in Paris on May 30 (Paris time).
