SCED to visit Indonesia
The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, will conduct an official visit to Indonesia beginning tomorrow (March 13) afternoon to promote bilateral co-operation between Hong Kong and Indonesia in the areas of trade and business, as well as tourism.
On March 14, Mr So will officiate at the opening ceremony of the Lifestyle Expo in Jakarta 2013 organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. He will also deliver a speech at the networking dinner of the Expo that night. With participation of more than 200 Hong Kong companies, the Expo offers an excellent opportunity for manufacturers and traders of Hong Kong to do business with their Indonesian counterparts.
On the same day, Mr So will meet with the Minister of Trade of Indonesia, Mr Gita Wirjawan, to explore areas of further economic co-operation.
Mr So will also meet with the Deputy Secretary-General of the ASEAN Secretariat, Dr Lim Hong Hin and the Deputy Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of Indonesia, Dr Sapta Nirwandar. The Commissioner for Tourism, Mr Philip Yung, who will reach Jakarta on March 14, will also join the meeting with the latter.
On March 15, Mr So and Mr Yung will lead a delegation of the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong and travel agents to depart Jakarta for Lombok, Indonesia. They will meet with the Governor of Province of West Nusa Tenggara, Mr Muhammad Zainul Majdi.
The delegation will visit the tourism infrastructure in Lombok. They will also meet with the Chairman of Lombok Hotels Association, Mr Stephane Servin, and the Chairman of the Association of the Indonesian Tours & Travel Agencies (West Nusa Tenggara Chapter), Mr Agus Mulyadi, to explore business opportunities between the travel trade of Hong Kong and Lombok.
Mr So and Mr Yung will leave Indonesia on March 17.
