SCED visits Indonesia
The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, arrived in Jakarta, Indonesia, today (November 1) to continue his visit to three Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries.
Mr So attended a lunch hosted by the Chinese Ambassador to ASEAN, Ms Yang Xiuping. They exchanged views on how Hong Kong could benefit all parties concerned by serving as a platform to promote trade between ASEAN and China.
In the afternoon, Mr So met with the Vice Minister of Trade of Indonesia, Mr Bayu Krisnamurthi. They discussed ways to strengthen economic and trade co-operation between the two places.
Afterwards, Mr So met with the Chairman of the Employers' Association of Indonesia, Mr Sofyan Wanandi, to better understand the investment and business environment of the country.
Mr So will continue his visit in Jakarta tomorrow (November 2). He will pay a courtesy call on the Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia, Mr Liu Jianchao, and will meet with the Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Investment Coordinating Board, Mr Achmad Kurniadi, as well as the Deputy Secretary General of the ASEAN Secretariat, Dr Lim Hong Hin.
