Acting SCED to attend Free Trade Agreement signing ceremony in Liechtenstein
The Acting Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, will leave for Schaan, Liechtenstein, tonight (June 20) to attend the signing ceremony of a Free Trade Agreement between Hong Kong and the member states of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), comprising Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland.
The Agreement is Hong Kong's first free trade agreement with the European economies. It covers trade in services and goods as well as investment, and other trade-related issues like protection of intellectual property.
The Agreement will bring Hong Kong's trade relations with the EFTA states to new heights and open up further business opportunities and promote trade and investment flows to the benefit of all economies involved.
Mr So will be back in Hong Kong on June 23.
