Foreword

The Government issued a public consultation paper on the detailed proposals for a competition law on 6 May 2008. The purpose of the consultation was to seek the community's views on the proposed major provisions that we envisage the competition law would contain.

Copies of these submissions, save for those which requested confidentiality, can be found in the individual submissions section. The Government has also prepared a report on public consultation on the detailed proposals for a competition law summarizing the submissions received.

We are grateful to all respondents for their efforts in preparing their comments and expressing their views on the consultation document.
