Permanent Secretary

     

               Miss Choi has been appointed as Hong Kong¡¦s Permanent Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development (Commerce, Industry and Tourism) since 1 July 2007. She is responsible for the development of policies relating to Hong Kong¡¦s external trade relations, industry support, trade facilitation, intellectual property protection, investment promotion, tourism, consumer protection and competition.

 

                Miss Choi was born in Hong Kong. She graduated from the University of Hong Kong.

 

                Miss Choi has served in various bureaux and departments including the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Geneva, the former Economic Services Branch, the former Chief Secretary¡¦s Office, the former Official Languages Agency and the former Trade Department. She was Deputy Secretary for Trade and Industry from 1998 to 2001, and Director of Information Services from 2002 to 2006.

 

               Before becoming the Permanent Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development (Commerce, Industry and Tourism), Miss Choi was the Permanent Secretary for Commerce, Industry and Technology (Commerce and Industry) from March 2006 to June 2007.
