SCED continues visit to Germany

The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, today (June 1, Berlin time) continued his visit to Berlin, Germany to promote Hong Kong's business opportunities.

In the morning, Mr So visited a Berlin-based accelerator to learn about the support it offers to digital start-ups. During the visit, Mr So noted that various incubation and acceleration programmes are available to start-ups in Hong Kong, making it an ideal place for German start-ups which wish to expand to Asia.

Mr So then paid a courtesy call on the Envoy of the Chinese Embassy in Germany, Mr Li Xiaosi. He also met with the Senator for Economics, Technology and Research of the Berlin Government, Ms Cornelia Yzer, to discuss ways to strengthen economic and trade co-operation between the two places.

In the afternoon, he will attend a roundtable discussion on intellectual property trading and speak at a gala dinner. Both events are organised by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, Berlin.
