SCED begins visit to Seoul

The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, arrived in Seoul, Korea, today (February 19) for a three-day visit to promote bilateral exchanges between the two cities.

Shortly after arrival, Mr So visited Samsung d'light, an exhibition centre that showcases the new technology and products of Samsung Electronics. He was briefed by the senior management on the company's performance in the global market and its systems to support the country's content and entertainment industries.

In the evening, Mr So hosted a dinner for former cabinet ministers, academics and local business leaders in Seoul. They exchanged views on various issues including the business environment and recent developments of the two cities.

The Permanent Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development (Communications and Technology), Miss Susie Ho, is accompanying Mr So on the visit.

Mr So will continue his visit to Seoul tomorrow. He will meet with senior Korean trade officials, call on a creative content agency and visit an entertainment company.
